MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 17, 2008


Delegates present: Maryan Barkley, Phyllis Burns, Cliff Carlson, Jim Hanley, Jim Harvey, Earlene McClosky,'

Mike McGrath, Rick Sayers, Ken Stermetz, and Bradley Thornton. Guests Ed Cronin, President of YMIA,

Marina West and Judy Corl-Leone of Bighorn Desert View Water.



Meeting called to order at: 3.05 p.m at Yucca Mesa by President Bradley Thornton.

Approval of previous minutes:



Treasurers Report: No income, no expenses. Balance $5,500.53



OLD BUSINESS:
1. Additional change needed to the by-laws discussed and tabled.

2. Letter sent to Mark Howard stating our position, ie: 2 ½ acres per house.

3. Maps Vernette Landers had drawn up obtained and passed out.

4. Letter to LAFCO sent. No expense on PIR's obtained by Jim Harvey

5. 765 signatures against annexation obtain at Yucca Mesa Poll site. Cliff explained

process with LAFCO. If application approved, there will be a protest period. If 25%

of land owners or registered voters respond it will go to ballot. 50 % will nullify app.

6. Letter of introduction to Supervisor Derry by Maryan.

Copy first by email for suggestions, approval..

7. Wine & cheese party to be held at YMIA on April 26th. Liquor license

For one day will be $25.

8. Cliff Carlson suggested the inclusion of Joshua Tree in HVCC. Opinion that

Joshua Tree already has representation with government officials.

NEW BUSINESS:



1. Phyllis Burns received notice of change from rural to commercial at Luna

Vista in Landers. Will bring paper work to next meeting

2. Bighorn-Desert View Water issue with Johnson Valley not being able to

Vote on water rate increase discussed and tabled..

3. Next meeting at Johnson Valley on Monday Dec. 15th at 3 p.m.

4. Discussion on huge trucks coming from outside the area to local dump.

Guest Ed Cronin will get info from Burtec. He also got the Park & Rec.

Master Plan which has plans for a future County Regional Park.

5. Pioneertown included in Yucca Valley's plan for annexation, correctly called

sphere of influence.

6. Discussion about disaster training with guest Marina West.

7. Cliff Carlson suggest we investigate buying a bulk rate for postage for all

Four associations to use. He will check and report back. Consensus positive.

8. Jim Harvey passed out letters for signature regarding Green Path.
