MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 17, 2008

 

Delegates present: Maryan Barkley, Phyllis Burns, Jim Hanley, Jim Harvey, Mike Lipsitz, Mike McGrath, Rick Sayers, Ken Stermetz and Bradley Thornton,  Guest Marina West and Field Supervisor Alan Rasmussen

Meeting called to order at: 3  p. m. at  Flamingo Heights Community Association

Introduction of guest and new member Alan Rasmussen, Assistant to Supervisor Neil Derry

Approval of previous minutes:

Treasurers Report: Treasurer absent.   Report from Mike McGrath. $60 check drawn for Basin Wide Directory Advertisement, Current balance $5,440.53

 

OLD BUSINESS:
                        1.  Motion to make additional change to the by-laws omitting Sec. 2, Article XI about an Appendix to by-laws passed.

2.      Future zoning notifications-David Dawson, S.B.Co.Land Use Services, to send to every association.

3.      Letter of introduction sent to Supervisor Neil Derry.

4.      Correction of date for Wine & cheese party. April 26th is a Sunday. Correct date is Saturday April 25th.

5.       Bulk rate postage tabled until Post Office determines eligibility.

6.      Bob Dockendorf set up some boundaries along Old Woman Springs Rd. in the County Rural Community Plan. O.K. if we set but not officially recognized by the County.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

           

1.      Special meeting with San Bernardino County Land Use Dept. speak about zoning on 247, tomorrow

      Tuesday January 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Flamingo Heights Association. Potluck will be at 6 pm.

2.      Next regular HVCC meeting Monday February 16th. at Landers.

3.      Discussion about Marine Base take over in Johnson Valley.  Motion to oppose approved. Maryan to draw up resolution.

4.      Mike McGrath obtained info on large mail box.  Cost would be $600 to $700 and numerous boxes would be needed and not paid by U.S.P.O.

5.      Discussion about disaster preparedness  Marine West to join Flamingo Heights Association Disaster Team and we will coordinate efforts with HVCC at a future meeting.
